Artist in Residence Kate Baldock!

Updated: Jan 26, 2022

A special thank you to our current Artist in Residence abstract artists Kate Baldock, who is spending January 24-25 with students in grades 2-6 of Kindred Elementary School!

She has invited each student to "make their mark" with their favorite color on a canvas that will be displayed at the upcoming February 5 KAAP fundraising gala at the Pines! She will then seal the canvas and gift it to the art room for display.

She also visited the High School for "Cookies with an Artist" and talked about art as a career to students in grades 7-12.

Kate is a Kindred graduate and her website state "I believe in inspiring others through art." Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents with our school district! Her high school art teacher Derek Morin (pictured on left) was happy to have her back in his art room and hear of the work she's created! Elementary art teacher Kelsey Mehrer (pictured right) is excited to hang the above collaborative art piece in her room to remind the students of Kate's time with them.

The Kindred Area Arts Partnership Artist in Residence program is funded by KAAP using donations to our organization and in part by a grant from the Kindred Area Community Foundation and funds donated to KAAP by the Viking Booster Club earmarked for the arts from their annual Viking Pride Auction.

Please consider attending our KAAP gala on February 5 at The Pines! Your ticket purchase or sponsorship of our event helps support programs like Artist in Residence in our school and community!
